Lithuania, part VI - Vilnius Old town (Senamiestis), Vilniaus katedra, Paminklas LDK didžiajam kunigaikščiui Gediminui, Cathedral Square & the Bell Tower

I walked along Pilies street, straight down to the Cathedral Square, and photos galore.

Cathedral Square & the Bell Tower, Katedra Sq 1 (Very centre). May-Sept: M-F 10:00–19:00, Oct-Apr: Tu-Sa 10:00–18:00. 57m high belfry was erected in 16th century on a base of the Gothic tower of the Lower Castle defensive wall. The tower base is round, while the Baroque belfry features octagonal plan. Approximately between the Bell Tower and Cathedral, in the square, look for a particular tile with a word "Stebuklas" (Lithuanian for "miracle") written on it. Stand on it, make a wish and turn around three times. Your wish should come true. This tile also marks the southern end of the Vilnius-Tallinn in the 1989 protest of the Soviet Union. Bell Tower ~€5, Cathedral Square free. (source)

There we go.

I guess Howard Wolowitz from TBBT was from Lithuania originally
